Doug McMahan has been a dedicated member of the Clark County Department of Aviation since 1996, steadily rising through the ranks to his current position as Senior Director of Aviation. In this pivotal role, he expertly oversees Facilities, Landside Operations, Terminal Operations, and Quality Assurance. Before assuming the Senior Director position, McMahan served as the Managing Director of Aviation, Facilities/Maintenance. In this capacity, he was responsible for the comprehensive management of asset maintenance, planning, and various critical systems. His oversight extended to electrical distribution, HVAC, baggage handling systems, automated tram systems, plumbing, and the upkeep of all airport buildings, roadways, bridges, and tunnels.
McMahan has spent the bulk of his professional career with the Department of Aviation. Over the course of his three decades with the department, he has gained valuable experience in commercial and residential construction, public sector design and construction project management, as well as mega-airport facilities maintenance and operations management. He has worked on a variety of significant projects, most notable was his participation in the design, construction, and commissioning of LAS’s Terminal 3 and securing the associated robust and long-term utilities agreements. McMahan also has private sector construction leadership experience prior to coming to the department.
A Las Vegas native, McMahan enjoys being outdoors, golfing, spending time in the mountains, and traveling with his family and dogs in his RV. He has made an impact in the community as a Little League baseball and youth soccer coach for over 25 years. McMahan has been married for more than three decades and is the proud father of three sons and three granddaughters.
