If you are bringing a mobile phone and/or laptop with you, it’s a good idea to have these fully charged before you leave. You will be able to use these at the airport, but once you’re on the plane they will have to be switched off during takeoff and landing and in the case of your mobile, possibly the duration of the flight,
Jewelry, body piercings, belt buckles, shoes, and other attire containing metal may set off the metal detectors at the security checkpoints. To save time, pack all such metal items in your carry-on luggage before arriving at the checkpoint. Place shoes, sweaters, jackets and 3-1-1 bag in a bin before going through the metal detectors.
Before leaving for the airport, make sure you have your ticket or boarding pass. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations require that all passengers have a boarding pass and valid photo I.D. to enter the security checkpoint.
Adults need an official photo I.D. issued by a government authority OR two other forms of valid I.D., one of which must be issued by a government authority. Minors are not required to have I.D.
Arrive approximately two hours (three hours for international flights) prior to your scheduled departure to allow plenty of time to get around. Contact your airline for specific flight information and suggested arrival times.
